About the Bioscope

Picture
Kirkland's New Empire Bioscope (formerly Secret Cinema) is a travelling cinematic art experience showing small screen images on various film gauges, and recently including VHS videotape and DVD projection.

The Alhambra Electric Theatre is our moveable land based cinema whilst the Regalette Floating Kinema us set aboard a traditional canal narrowboat. The travelling cinema is a tribute to the Kirkland family of Bilston, and their favourite cinema in that town, the Alhambra...all of another time and another place.
